Description

The JST Difference

First and Focused on Uptime, JST Power Equipment developed and marketed the first independent pole-operated breaker with a three-phase system that helps utilities improve their delivery performance by isolating outages to prevent a whole-system shutdown. Delivering Complete Unit Substations and Single Source Accountability, JST provides turnkey transformer and switchgear packages that streamline everything from installation to troubleshooting and service, making it easier for growing companies to acquire and implement new substations. With a single point of contact, customers can easily access support whenever and wherever they need it. Beyond Manufacturing—Addressing Operational Obstacles, JST Power Equipment provides customized product and system solutions by listening to customers’ challenges and goals, helping them better compete in their marketplace.

What Does That Look Like Exactly?

What keeps you up at night? One OEM manufacturer said the lack of spare parts was a major drain on time and resources in their production process. While assembling a 70+ ton piece of equipment, if a small part broke or a connector failed, the entire production line stopped, the equipment was removed, and the order was placed on hold until the replacement part arrived. The real issue was that this approach could take 8 to 12 weeks, or even require the cannibalization of future projects.

The JST Solution. The equipment on that line is a system that JST can build, and the real answer is providing a vending machine-type solution where all parts are stocked and ready on-site, on demand. Should a component fail on the line, a part is immediately accessed, and a fix is available within minutes. JST provides parts inventory—and the flexibility for the factory to pay as it uses parts—to keep operations up and running efficiently. On-site inventory is a game changer for production, employee satisfaction, and customer experience.

The Bottom Line. Rather than expecting customers to select systems from a predetermined lineup, JST Manufacturing focuses on problem-solving. This means we’ll never force a solution. Instead, we’ll engineer the answer.

The Model and Meaning

Ye lo bro, same content ko sirf clean formatting mein set kiya hai:

Model of the Box-Type Substation

  • Model: YB-□/□-Capacity (□ depending on the rated voltage on the HV/LV side)
  • Rated Capacity: 30–3,800 kVA
  • For capacities larger than 3,800 kVA, consult the Company’s technicians to provide a separate scheme.

HV/LV Rated Voltage

  • HV Side: 7.2 kV, 15 kV, 27 kV, 38 kV
  • LV Side: 0.27 kV, 0.315 kV, 0.4 kV, 0.48 kV, 0.52 kV, 0.69 kV

Example Model: YB-15/480-2,500

Operating Conditions

  • Maximum Ambient Temperature: +40°C
  • Minimum Ambient Temperature: -10°C (Ordinary Areas), -25°C (Alpine Regions)
  • Enclosure: Rated for Outdoor Use
  • Ground Acceleration: Suited for Standard and Seismic Applications
  • Designed for installation with predefined conduit entries and an approved surface to support the unit’s weight.
  • The packaged substation significantly reduces on-site labor and commissioning time.
  • If special installation services or operating conditions are required, JST should be informed of all requirements.
  • Any special service conditions must be proposed and confirmed prior to order placement.

Structural Characteristics

Lifting

  • Do not handle the product with a forklift under normal conditions.
  • Indoor products may be moved using a **steel-pipe roller**.
  • Outdoor products should be lifted using a **crane** in accordance with applicable hoisting safety specifications.
  • Select hoisting equipment based on the **nominal weight** shown on the nameplate.
  • Ensure the angle between hoisting steel wires does not exceed **60°** during lifting.
  • Maintain a **stable landing** throughout the lifting process.
  • When using **bottom hoisting**, special lifting appliances should be used to prevent damage to the top cover.

Inspection & Acceptance

  • Verify that the packing list matches the delivered items.
  • Confirm the product details match the order contract, including the **model, rated capacity, and route scheme**.
  • Ensure all delivery documents are complete.
  • Inspect the product for any **damage or deformation**.
  • Check all internal electrical equipment and connections for **loose, disconnected, or damaged components**.

Transportation

  • The product inclination must **not exceed 30°** during transportation.
  • Vulnerable components (such as **energy meters**) may be removed before long-distance transportation.
  • Use **anti-shock packaging** for sensitive components and reinstall them after arrival.
  • Transport the product in its **normal operating position**.
  • Secure the product firmly to the base or packing platform during transportation.
  • Prevent any movement or excessive vibration during transit.
  • Lift or secure the product **only** using the **base hooks** and **top lifting rings**.

Maintenance & Repair: The electrical equipment, including the switchgear and transformers inside the product, should be inspected and maintained regularly in accordance with the installation instructions and applicable requirements. Impact with hard objects should be avoided, as it may damage the anti-corrosion protective coating. For routine maintenance, the HV/LV switchgear door may be opened or the front panel removed. In the event of major maintenance or equipment replacement, the fixed nuts securing the top cover should be removed, the top cover lifted off, and the transformer or switchgear removed for overhaul or replacement.

Ordering Information: The orderer shall provide the transformer type and rated capacity, along with the required accessory configuration, when placing an order. The HV/LV chamber wiring scheme, including the specifications and model of the electrical elements, should also be specified. The enclosure is supplied in Ivory White or Light Green as standard; however, if a special color is required, a sample must be provided to the factory, and customization will be applied. Any additional customer requirements should also be communicated at the time of ordering.

Environmentally friendly, safe alternative to liquid-filled transformers

VPI transformers are an excellent alternative in applications that call for an environmentally friendly, economical solution. They reduce flammability concerns, require less maintenance, and are less prone to contaminating the surrounding environment than liquid-filled transformers, avoiding the need for catch basins during construction. Our VPI transformers are designed with NOMEX® insulation. Its compact structure makes the electric field between insulation and cooling medium more uniform—reducing dielectric loss. NOMEX® is non-toxic and is fire and moisture resistant for increased safety.

  • Eco-friendly alternative to oil-filled transformers
  • Low maintenance
  • Various applications, including variable frequency drives, variable speed drives, converters, thermal loading and general purpose auxiliary power
